(Seguin) — The Seguin ISD is expected to finally move forward with the potential first steps needed to secure a land deal for a future third middle school.
As reported last week, the school board opted to hold off on action that would allow Superintendent Dr. Matthew Gutierrez from moving forward with the purchase of a 42-acre tract of land, located adjacent to the Irma Lewis Seguin Outdoor Learning Center.
The issue according to the district was more about how the agenda item read than the school board being opposed to the purchase of this land.
District officials say the change also allowed the district to illustrate to the public its due diligence in handling this land deal and making sure that it is the best location for a future school.
Tonight’s agenda reads, “Consideration and Possible Action, Including Adoption of a Resolution to Make an Offer to Purchase Approximately 42 Acres of Real Property Located at 407 Patricia Park Court, Seguin, Texas from GREEN DOG DEVELOPMENT, LLC.”
The special meeting of the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees gets underway at 6:30 p.m. today in the Seguin ISD Board Room located in the Seguin ISD Administration Building.
