(Seguin) — The Seguin River Monsters got a come-from-behind win and walked it off in extra innings Tuesday night at Smokey Joe Williams Field to start their second season taking down the Brazos Valley Bombers, 7-6 in 10 innings.
Down 5-4 in the bottom of the 9th, Preston Freeman singled to drive in a run and tie the game. After the Bombers went back in front in the top of the 10th, the River Monsters scored two in the bottom of the inning, capped by an infield single from Kyle Atkinson to drive in Connor Kaiser to give Seguin the season opening victory.
The River Monsters and Bombers will wrap their home-and-home tonight in Bryan. The River Monsters will head to Baton Rouge tomorrow. They will head to Lafayette, Louisiana on Friday before coming back home to Seguin on Saturday night to take on the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
