Public encouraged to come out, check out the details.
(Seguin) — Seguin residents are invited to plant an eye on the city’s blueprint for the next couple of decades.
Jennifer Sourdellia, the city of Seguin public information officer, says the city will host an Open House for residents to view a draft of the city’s updated Comprehensive Plan today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Seguin Public Library.
She says the Comprehensive Plan will provide a concept for growth over the next 20 to 30 years as it guides the city’s decisions related to transportation, infrastructure, parks, land use, neighborhoods, economic development, community image, and quality of life for residents.
“This is so important to everyone because this has everything to do with Seguin’s future. What we are going to have is an open house where we are going to showcase the city’s updated comprehensive plan. This is a plan that we’ve been working on with our consultants for the past 18 months. This has been a process that we’ve been going through and during this process, we worked really hard with the public to get their input collected. We got that collected at meetings and from surveys and this plan is drafted based upon that input from our residents and stakeholders who knows Seguin best. So, we invite everyone to come out and look at this draft plan so they can see what we are going to be putting into place for Seguin’s future,” said Sourdellia.
City officials say they encourage folks to stop by and share their thoughts and comments. They say all comments will be collected and considered as the prep together the official plan for final action by Seguin City Council.
