Seguin High School Track & Field Athletes Punch Their Tickets to the State Meet

(San Antonio) – Seguin High School Track & Field athletes had stellar showings in the finals of the UIL Class 5A Region IV Track Meet held on Saturday at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio. Here are those results:

Daisha Shular took home the gold in the girls 100 meter dash with a regional meet record and a personal best time of 11.44. She broke her own meet record of 11.69 she set on Friday. The record had stood for 19 years. Daisha will compete at the state meet in Austin starting on May 11th.

Shular also placed 2nd in the long jump and will compete at the state meet thanks to a jump of 18-7.25.

Leah Brown, Ari Shular, Kyra Nunez, & Daisha Shular won gold in the girls 4X100 meter relay with a time of 47.46. All four girls advanced to the state meet.

Devin Matthews, Nik Henry, Ocean Moreno, & Elliot Weaver placed 2nd in the boys 4X100 meter relay with a time of 42.09. All four will move on to the state meet.

Christian Ramirez won the wheel chair 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.06. Ramirez also won gold in the wheel chair shot put with a personal record throw of 17-1. And he finished 2nd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 17.56. Ramirez advanced to the state meet in all three events.

The Seguin girls team placed 3rd overall out of 35 teams at the regional meet. The boys team placed 6th out of 36 teams.

The state track meet will take place May 11th through the 13th at Myers Track & Soccer Stadium in Austin.

(Seguin) — Two Marion High School Track & Field athletes will also be going to the state meet.

On Friday, Maggie Rudisaile took home gold in girls pole vault at the Class 3A Region IV meet held at Seguin High School. Rudisaile’s teammate Sarah Cook finished 2nd in the girls shot put and will join Rudisaile at the state meet. Cook twice established new Marion High School girls shot put records at the meet.
