Shular, Henry among the SHS students shining at Regional Track Meet


(San Antonio) — At the regional track meet, several Seguin Matador athletes shined, perhaps none bigger than Daisha Shular. She advanced to the state meet by placing second in the long jump.
She also set the record for the regional meet in the girls 100 meters, with a blazing time of 11.69. The sophomore is now in the top 25 sprinters in the country. Shular and the rest of the girls relay teams competing from Seguin are headed for today’s finals at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio.

On the boys side, it was Nik Henry, who helped to pace the team. Henry advanced to the boys 100 meter finals. The boys relay teams also advanced to the finals today.

Other Seguin kids participating in the Region Four 5A Regional Track and Field Championship Meet are Leah Brown, Arianna Shular, Kyra Nunez, Kayden Holz, Ocean Moreno, Elliot Weaver, Garrett Machado and Christian Ramirez.
