Voters encouraged to check website for polling site
(Seguin) – Today marks the start of early voting for a number of city, school and political subdivision races throughout Guadalupe County.
Early voting days and hours vary by political jurisdiction, so voters are encouraged to check out the Guadalupe County Elections Office website to find sample ballots, early voting dates, times and locations.
Unlike the November election, when any Guadalupe County registered voter can vote at any Guadalupe County voting location, in the May 6 election, voters, this go around, will need to go to the specific voting location for the entity in which they intend to vote.
For voters who reside in jurisdictions that cross county lines, it is recommended that the voters check and see which county is conducting their jurisdiction’s election and locate their early voting location.
For example, the Guadalupe County Elections Office is conducting Elections for Seguin ISD, Marion ISD, San Marcos CISD (the Guadalupe County portion), City of Cibolo, District 5, City of Santa Clara, Lake McQueeney WCID and Lake Placid WCID.
Anyone voting in those elections can vote early at the main early voting location or one of the branch locations for that jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the Comal County Elections Office is conducting voting for both Guadalupe and Comal Counties for the races in the city of New Braunfels, Comal ISD and New Braunfels ISD. Elections officials say while it might be a bit confusing, voters are asked call the elections office or check its website for the exact voting locations. They say Vote Centers will be returning this November giving folks the opportunity to again vote or vote early at any polling location.
