(Seguin) — The search is on for the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run accident along FM 1978.
Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Investigators say at approximately 7 a.m. Friday, March 31, deputies found the dead woman in the grass near the shoulder of the roadway. Officials say the accident occurred in the 4500 block of FM 1978.
Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was the victim of a motor vehicle collision and the vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene. The victim has been identified as local resident Roseanne Alaniz, 39. Pronouncing her dead at the scene and ordering an autopsy on her body was Guadalupe County Justice of the Peace Sheryl Sachtleben.
The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is handling the investigation. Providing assistance are the Texas Highway Patrol and the Texas Rangers.
