Seguin's Cooper Newmann

(Seguin) — Tonight, the Seguin Matadors will host the San Antonio Wagner Thunderbirds over at Smokey Joe Williams Field.

“I feel like we match in identities. They’re an underdog coming off a big win against a top-ranked opponent in Smithson Valley.” First year Seguin head coach Mike Gonzales said. “So they’re gonna be high and confident looking to get two in a row.”

The Thunderbirds handed Smithson Valley their first District 26-5A loss this past Friday. Seguin is still looking for their first district win, Wagner is 1-5 in district play.

You’ll hear tonight’s game between the Matadors and Thunderbirds on KWED. We will hear more from coach Gonzales during our Matador pregame show which starts at 6:45 pm. First pitch is slated for 7 O’clock tonight at Smokey Joe on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.
