SEGUIN, Texas — Texas Lutheran softball’s Ashlyn Strother (Seabrook/Clear Falls) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced today.The two-time reigning SCAC Pitcher of the Year and first team All-American picked up in 2023 right where she left off a year ago. This week’s conference honor marks the tenth of Strother’s career.
As a starter in TLU’s second game of the season against Division-II #19 St. Mary’s, Strother tallied three strikeouts and only allowed one hit en route to a complete game shutout. Strother is the only pitcher to shut out the Rattlers this season and maintained a no hitter through 3.2 innings.
Strpther and the Bulldogs are back in action Friday, Feb. 24, as they take on Hardin-Simmons at 2 & 4 PM at Ed Kruse Stadium. All streaming and live stat links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
