California fugitive causes crash that injuries a pair of officers

(Guadalupe County) — A high speed chase involving a stolen vehicle Friday morning has resulted in a vehicle crash which has left both a Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy and a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper injured.

Chief Deputy Joshua Ray of the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office says the pursuit was reported at 6:29 a.m. when deputies attempted to stop the vehicle. The chase ended in a crash at the 599-mile marker on Interstate 10. Both the deputy and the trooper are said to have suffered minor injuries and are expected to make a full recovery.  Ray says the suspect identified as Demarco Anthony Travillian Jr, 27, of Lathrop, California, was not injured in the incident and is currently being held in the Guadalupe County Jail.

The suspect is reportedly wanted out of California for burglary and robbery. Officials say California agencies will not extradite the suspect.
