(Seguin) – There is new representation on the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees. Josh Bright successfully claimed the District 7 seat from Incumbent Glenda Moreno during Tuesday’s election. Bright led the race the entire night – ending with 835 of the votes cast. Moreno trailed behind with 726 votes, followed by a third candidate Steve Turner who received only 659 votes.
Bright, who currently has children in the Seguin ISD, says he is appreciative to all those who have stood behind him and who he knows will continue to support him as he works for the best interest of all students.
“I’d like to thank my wife, Claire and my family and my friends, my neighbors, and my district for supporting me and having faith that I will make a positive impact on the future of our children. I know the other two candidates are equally as passionate about Seguin ISD, and I hope they will continue their support in other areas. I do look forward to working alongside the other board of trustees –– Dr. Gutierrez and the stakeholders to make sure that the path the district is on is the best for our children,” said Bright.
Both Moreno and Turner were unavailable for comment following Tuesday night’s results. Bright is slated to assume the seat following the canvassing of the official election results by the Seguin ISD. That is anticipated for later this month.
