(Seguin) – What better day to meet the city’s new police chief than on the first day on the job. The city of Seguin today is inviting citizens to a community meet and greet and swearing-in ceremony for new Seguin Police Chief Jason Brady.
Jennifer Sourdellia, the public information officer, says traditionally, the city administers the oath of office to its newly appointed personnel during the workday. However, to extend the opportunity to more citizens, the city has opted to schedule the event for late this afternoon.
“The city is eager to finally have Jason Brady on board as our new Seguin Police Chief. We are inviting all citizens to please join us. The public can also stay for a welcome reception which will be a great way to meet Chief Brady and his family and give them a warm Seguin welcome,” said Sourdellia.
Brady, who comes to Seguin from the city of Rollingwood, replaces former Chief Terry Nichols who resigned this past spring.
The swearing-in ceremony begins at 5:30 pm today in the Community Room at the Seguin Public Library The meet and greet will be held immediately afterward until 7 pm. The library is located at 313 W. Nolte St.
