(Seguin) — It reportedly pays off to purchase your Guadalupe County Youth Show Gala tickets early. Although, the event is not until Sept. 17, buying a ticket by this Friday will give you a chance to win a $250 cash prize at the end of the event being held at the Columbus Club Hall of Seguin.

That’s according to Committee member Jennifer Ulrich who says the youth show gala features a special evening that includes a social hour, steak dinner, dance, live and silent auctions, numerous $50 door prizes plus a $1,000 door grand prize again be sponsored by Capital Farm Credit.

“When you buy your tickets, they have to be purchased and paid for by Aug. 12 which is coming up pretty quick. You get entered into the Early Bird drawing which is one chance for a $250 prize and after that there also going to be multiple $50 chances,” said Ulrich.

Organizers says the Gala is one of the primary fundraisers benefitting exhibitors of the Youth Show. The funds the Gala raises through sponsorships, ticket sales and live and silent auctions are utilized for scholarships and to defray costs incurred to operate the Youth Show.

Ulrich says she knows personally the impact of the youth show and wants others to also show their support by purchasing a ticket.

“All of our proceeds from the gala will directly support the Guadalupe County Livestock and Homemaker Youth Show and we also do a multitude of scholarships every year for the youth participants in Guadalupe County. Personally, my children, all three of them, are participating this year so it means a lot to me because like I said, we are directly involved,” said Ulrich.

The Youth Show has been held annually since 1941 as a way to showcase the area’s leaders through exhibiting livestock projects, homemade crafts, baked goods and industrial arts.

Sponsorships are also still being accepted for each of the $50 door prizes to be given away that evening.

Individual tickets to the Gala are $50. Reserved Named Seated Tables for 12 are $600. Again, the Early Bird Drawing prize is $250.  Tickets must be purchased and paid postmarked on or before this Friday, August 12, 2022 to be eligible.

Doors open at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.; live auction at 7:30 p.m.; silent auction at 6 p.m. and a dance at 8 p.m.
