Abrameit debuts her recently released country single, original music
(Seguin) – A Seguin native who is now an up-and-coming Nashville recording artist will be performing in Seguin this weekend and all for a good cause.
Madelyn Abrameit has been invited to showcase a few of her recently released songs during Saturday’s Cornhole Fundraiser and Family Day benefiting Relay For Life of Guadalupe County. Abrameit is set to take the stage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at The Backyard.
In traveling to Seguin for this debut of her recently released music, Abrameit, a 2018 graduate of Marion High School, is sharing more about her move to Nashville to pursue a music business degree and how that journey has now led her to this point in her career.
“It just so happened that after I was finished with my degree, some people that I knew that I worked for nannying hooked me up with a producer that they knew of. His name is Michael Rinne and he helped me record my single that is out and my EP (extended play/multiple tracks) that is going to be out this summer. My single that just came out on the 29th of April is called Cotulla. I wrote it with my sister Katie Abrameit and my good friend Linda Robinson. It kind of just came out of this idea of wanting to write about a place where you can hide with some other person and just feel comfortable. It sounds real and nostalgic with a flare of modern country but not too much modern country. A lot of my songs sound that way and some idols that I have are Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert and Conway Twitty so I lean more towards the older country,” said Abrameit.
Abrameit says her passion for music started early on and looks forward to continuing her love for singing and writing.
“To me, my songs are real. They mean something. They have a story behind them. Some of them are fun but it’s not just some fun thing. It means something. The words mean something and it’s nostalgic. It brings you back a little bit, but it has a hint of that modern country in there too and a couple of my songs on my EP – there’s one that I wrote for my grandparent. It’s called 12 Acres,” said Abrameit.
Abrameit says this weekend, she not only hopes to feature her original music but will be performing a number of other popular hits. Most importantly, she says she’s hoping to pull in even more support for Relay For Life.
“They can expect a good time. I’m going to sing some of my songs that are not released yet. Obviously, I’m going to sing my single and then I’m going to have some Merle Haggard, some Adele, some Miranda Lambert maybe some Brooks and Dunn, things like that and then, it’s all for Relay For Life at The Backyard and if don’t want to listen to live music or don’t want to hear me sing that’s fine but I do recommend that they come out and support Relay For Life because it’s all for a good cause. There’s a silent auction. There’s a cornhole tournament. It’s kid friendly. There’s food and drinks. I think they should come out and have a good time,” said Abrameit.

Other events at the fundraiser will include kid-friendly activities and live and silent auctions.
The Backyard, is located at 225 N. Saunders St.
