(Seguin) — It’s not too late to donate this weekend to a good cause. Auction prizes are still be collected for this year’s annual Ann & Bethany Bertling and Tristan Gonzalez Foundation (ABT) Fundraiser dinner and dance.
Each year, the prizes help generate close to 90 percent of the proceeds raised at the annual event. This year’s fundraiser is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Columbus Hall of Seguin.
The foundation, created in memory of all three named individuals that died in a vehicle accident in 2016, supports local youth involved in agricultural activities.
Jennifer Bertling, one of the founders of the non-profit, says any donations are appreciated.
“It’s the last Saturday of April every year whatever that date may be but it’s at the K.C. Hall and we take donations for live and silent auctions. They can range anywhere from small donations to large donations. People can also give monetary donations to the event as well,” said Jennifer.
Husband Blake Bertling says they are making things easy so that folks can donate their prizes.
“They can either call and bring them by my shop or else, they’ll call, and we will meet them and go pick them up and then like the day before, April 29th and the 30th, we will be at the KC Hall both days and people can go and drop them off at the K.C. Hall,” said Blake.
Tickets to the event which includes the cost of a pork steak dinner plus two drinks and dancing are $50 for adults. The cost is also the same for youth ages 13 to 17. The cost for kids ages 7-12 is $25. Children 12 and under are free. The meal for them is not included.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Saturday followed by the serving of dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dancing will also follow with music by Clint Taft & The Buckwild Band. Those wishing to purchase tickets to the event may do so by stopping by Bertling Rentals located at 851 E. I-H 10. The business is open Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door.
