(Geronimo) — The Navarro ISD community is mourning the loss of one of the four teens involved in a single vehicle accident Saturday night near Luling.

Confirming the death of Brian Munoz, a sophomore at Navarro High School, were family and friends who established a Go Fund Me page.  According to the Go Fund Me website, funds are being raised to help cover medical and now funeral costs for Munoz.

The page indicates that Munoz died just after 5 p.m. Monday following injuries sustained when the pickup truck he was in crossed over the eastbound lane leaving the roadway and struck a tree in the 1800 block of West Pierce, U.S. Highway 90.

The request for monetary donations states that “Brian was so young and had so much life to live, but we will always remember him as someone we all loved being around. He was loved & will be extremely missed.”

According to Luling Police Chief Bill Sala, two of the other teens, a 16-year-old male and 14-year-old female had to be pulled from the wreckage. The fourth victim, a 16-year-old male in the rear seat, was able to escape from the vehicle on his own.

All were transported to area hospitals. Due to their age, the other victims’ names have not been released although initially, the Navarro ISD had confirmed that one other victim was a current student and the other  two were former students.

Those wishing to donate to Munoz’ family  are asked to visit gofundme.com and search Brian Munoz.
