(Austin) – Texas Lutheran baseball took its second midweek matchup of the season against Concordia University as they handled the Tornados 15-4 in seven innings Tuesday night at Tornado Field.

The Bulldogs, who have now won eight straight games, improved to 19-7 on the season. The Bulldogs – who received votes in this week’s D3Baseball.com Top 25 Poll – are averaging 10+ runs per game over their last 8 games, scoring double-digit runs in five of their last eight games.

Texas Lutheran exploded for a combined 12 runs in the first and second innings in what was a collective team effort. Carson Draehn led the Bulldogs with two RBIs through the first two innings.

Draehn, Holden Philippus, Joe Jimenez, Tyler Post, and Payton Dahl all finished with two RBIs for the Bulldogs. Aric Vasquez led the Bulldogs with four hits in a 4-for-4 effort at the plate – scoring three runs.

Randy Huerta stole two bases to regain the SCAC lead and move into eighth in the nation with 21 stolen bases on the year.

Keene Kreusler made his first collegiate start on the mound – allowing two runs and four walks in one inning of work. Four Bulldogs pitchers in total emerged Tuesday night combining for four runs allowed on six hits over seven innings of action.

Logan Fisher would pick up his third win of the season, striking out two in three innings of work.

Texas Lutheran will head to Sherman, Texas, this weekend to face the Austin College ‘Roos in conference play. The three-game series begins Friday with first pitch scheduled for 7 PM at Baker Field. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
