(Abilene) – Marion High School senior Bode Walters turned in the most impressive performance among the area’s competitors in the THSPA boys state powerlifting meet with a sixth place finish and a total of 1,670 lbs lifted in the 308 lb. weight class of the 3A division.
Walters squatted 715 lbs, bench pressed 405, and dead lifted 550.
Seguin’s Josh Soliz finished 10th in the 132 weight class of the 5A division. Soliz lifted 1,085 pounds with a 430 squat, a 245 bench, and a 410 dead lift.
The Matadors’ James Medrano and Michael Martinez took 15th and 22nd place in their respective weight classes.
Navarro’s Isaac Zamora finished 10th in the 165 weight class of the 4A competition with a total of 1,215 lbs. That includes a 475 squat, 275 bench, and 465 dead lift.
