Harris, Lingueno, Cannon-High claim wins for Seguin track & field at NEISD meet


(San Antonio) – Nayla Harris took first place in the girls 100 meters, Ashley Lingueno in the girls long jump, and J’Dohn Cannon-High in the boys high jump to highlight to lead the Seguin track and field teams at the Northeast ISD meet in San Antonio last week.

The Seguin girls finished second among 12 participating schools in the team standings. The Seguin boys finished seventh.

Harris won the girls 100 meters with a time of 12.31 seconds. She was also on the 4×100 relay team that finished second with a personal best time of 47.54 seconds, along with Kyra Nunez, Lingueno, and Daisha Shular.

Lingueno took first in the girls long jump with a mark of 17′ 9-1/2″. Harris finished third in that event (16’10-1/4″).

Cannon-High cleared the bar at six feet to win the boys high jump and finished second in the long jump (20’6-1/2″).

Leah Brown took second place in the girls 400 meters (1:02.22) and third in the triple jump (36’6-1/2″).

Shular finished third in the 100 meters (12.60) and Lingueno took fourth in the 200 meters (26.07).

The 4×200 (1:43.85) and 4×400 relay teams (4:14.73) each finished third with personal record times. Brown, Harris, Lingueno, and Shular made up the 4×200 unit, with Jade Burrell, Brown, Keighly Dailey, and Madyson Patterson running the 4×400.
