Guadalupe County Jury sentences convicted child molester to 60 years in prison

(Seguin) — After a four-day jury trial, a Guadalupe County jury has sentenced Bobby Bordelon, 48, to 60 years in prison without the possibility of parole for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. Bordelon was also convicted on Thursday of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon against a child and two counts of Aggravated Assault against an adult for which he received sentences of 50 years, 10 years, 2 years and 2 years, respectively. The State of Texas was represented by Heather McMinn and Jonathan Fischer.

Guadalupe County Attorney Dave Willborn says he praises the hard work and dedication of his office and law enforcement.

“Heather and Jonathan put hundreds of hours of work into this case. Their effort paired with the work done by Schertz PD and the Guadalupe County CAC (Children’s Advocacy Center) made it so that this monster will spend the rest of his life behind bars,” said Willborn.
The bravery of the victims, according to McMinn, was the most crucial part of the case.

“These young children had the courage to tell their families what was happening to them, and the families immediately reached out to law enforcement for help. The Guadalupe County Children’s Advocacy Center and law enforcement worked diligently to get these children the help and resources they needed. If these children didn’t stand up for themselves and tell what happened, we wouldn’t have been able to help put an end to it,” said McMinn. “I am thankful to finally give this family closure.”

Willborn also expressed his gratitude to the jurors in the case, saying “this type of sentence should send a resounding message to the perpetrators out there – if you touch our children, you’ll die in prison.”

Bordelon will not be eligible for release until after his 99th birthday.
