(Seguin) – The city of Seguin’s latest burglary suspect is behind bars thanks to thorough investigation by the Seguin Police Department.
Seguin PD officials say officers were first dispatched to Mary’s Tex Mex at 1752 W. Kingsbury St. for a burglary that had just been discovered. An employee arriving to work that morning found that the back door of the business had been damaged, and an undisclosed amount of money had been taken from the business. Officials say the investigation would later reveal that the suspect forcefully entered the rear door of the restaurant at approximately 11:51 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
Officers were also dispatched to Mary’s Tacos at 129 W. Kingsbury St. regarding a burglary that was also just discovered. When the owner of Mary’s Tacos arrived for work, he discovered the front door of the business was damaged and an undisclosed amount of money had also been taken from the restaurant.
That same morning, officers were dispatched to Davila’s BBQ at 418 W. Kingsbury St. for yet another burglary. Detectives says the Davila’s burglary immediately showed similar efforts in forcing the door open.
Investigating officers were able to collect several different surveillance videos. Each of the obtained videos showed the suspect committing the burglaries.
Within a matter of hours after the discovery of the burglaries, Detective Julian Barrera was able to positively identify the suspect as Rudy Ramirez III, 18, of Seguin.
An arrest warrant charging Ramirez with burglary of a building, a state jail felony, was granted by Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Judge Darrell Hunter.
On Friday, Dec. 3,, Ramirez was taken into custody by Seguin Police Department detectives without incident.
Ramirez was then transported to the Guadalupe County Jail. He is currently being held on a $20,000 bond. Officials say additional charges are anticipated in this investigation.
