(Seguin) — In collaboration with the Seguin Family Historical Society, Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin is inviting the community to the Juan N. Seguin Poster Exhibit. The exhibit is being narrated by Albert Seguin Gonzales, the great great grandson of Col. Juan N. Seguin.
The exhibit is being housed at Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin’s Cultural Arts Center and includes the mini bronze statue of Juan N. Seguin created by Erik Christianson.
“We are honored to be housing the poster exhibit, Commemorating and
Celebrating the Life of Col. Juan N. Seguin, and the miniature replica bronze statue inside of Teatro De Artes Cultural Arts Center. We look forward to the community at large stopping by to view the exhibit,” said Yvonne M. De La Rosa, Teatro executive director.
Additionally, the public is cordially invited to an informal gathering on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 10:30 AM at Juan Seguin’s burial site. The burial site is located at 789 South Saunders St.
“The city of Seguin will once again honor their namesake with a floral wreath,” said Gonzales who also represents the Seguin Family Historical Society. This event is held each year in commemoration of Seguin’s birthday and is hosted in conjunction with Pecan Fest & Heritage Days.
This program is funded in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, Guadalupe County United Way, Humanities Texas, San Antonio Area Foundation, the city of Seguin and many local businesses and individuals.
The Juan Seguin Exhibit is open to the public starting now through Dec. 10. Teatro hours are Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Teatro’s Cultural Arts Center is located at 921 W. New Braunfels St.
