Today marks the start of early voting in the Nov. 2 election

(Seguin) – Early voting polls are officially open today for the Tuesday, Nov. 2 Constitutional Amendment Election. Guadalupe County Election’s Administrator Lisa Hayes, says in addition to the Constitutional Amendments, there will be eight local jurisdictions holding joint elections with Guadalupe County – one of them being the

Navarro ISD and its pursuit of a $160 million bond issue.

With the various elections out there, Hayes reminds individuals that each ballot will be specific for each voter.

“Each Guadalupe County voter’s ballot will contain races for all the jurisdictions in which that voter is eligible to vote, based on the address at which they are registered.  Some voters may have only the eight Constitutional Amendments on their ballots, while others may have city, school, or water district races in addition to the Constitutional Amendments.  The local entities within Guadalupe County which are holding elections on November 2 are the City of Cibolo, the City of Schertz, the City of Universal City, Comal ISD, Navarro ISD, New Braunfels ISD, SCUC ISD and Green Valley Special Utility District,” said Hayes.

Hayes says voters in Guadalupe County are also reminded that they may vote at any polling location. Those six polling locations include the Seguin Elections Office; Cibolo Fire Station #2; the Central Texas Technology Center; Grace Church in New Braunfels; New Berlin City Hall and the Schertz Elections Office Annex.

The early voting hours in Guadalupe County are also the same for all early voting locations. That schedule runs today through Friday, Oct 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday Oct. 23 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 24 from noon to 6 p.m. and Monday Oct. 25 through Friday, Oct. 29 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Applications for ballot by mail must be received in the Elections Office no later than close of business on Oct.  22.  Applications for ballot by mail for Guadalupe County should be sent to: Lisa Hayes, Early Voting Clerk, 215 S. Milam St, Seguin, Texas 78155 or P. O. Box 1346, Seguin, TX  78156-1346.

Those unable to physically enter the polling location will also still have the ability to vote curbside. Hayes says all individuals need to do is call the number found on the sign outside the polling location and tell them that they would like for someone to come outside so that they can vote curbside.

Sample ballots are now available at both the Seguin and Schertz Elections Office, or on the Guadalupe County Elections Office website. That website can be found at www.co.guadalupe.tx.us/elections.news
