City of Seguin updates residents on trash pickup schedule, extension for utility billing

(Seguin) – The city of Seguin is providing a better idea on who should roll out their trash bins to the curb. They say this past week created plenty of challenges in tackling their normal trash route.

Jennifer Sourdellia, the public information officer for the city of Seguin, says a few hurdles even impacted an already modified schedule – one being the closure of the landfill. Sourdellia says with weather conditions expected to improve today, crews are expected to get back to work.

“Friday garbage routes will be picked-up beginning mid-morning on Friday, Feb. 19. Crews are also collecting this week’s Monday-Thursday routes that were delayed by the winter weather. Waste Connections will be collecting any remaining trash routes on Saturday, Feb. 20. Finishing the Monday-Thursday routes may take several days to accomplish. Waste Connections will focus on collecting garbage routes first and then recycling routes. Please note that recycling collection could be delayed to the week of Feb. 22-26, 2021,” said Sourdellia.

City of Seguin utility bill customers with payments that were due this past week will also receive an extension of five business days. The five days will be calculated from their original due date. Those having specific questions about their bill are asked to call 830-401-2460 or email utilitybilling@seguintexas.gov.

Sourdellia adds that Seguin City Hall, Utility Billing, Seguin Public Library, Seguin Municipal Court, Starcke Park Golf Course, Seguin Animal Services and all other nonemergency city offices will remain closed today due to inclement winter weather conditions.

Regular business hours are expected to resume on Monday.
