Epimenio Chavez Sr.

Epimenio Chavez Sr. of Seguin, Texas was welcomed into our Fathers Heavenly Kingdom on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the age of 90. He was born to Ancelmo Chavez and Maria R. (Saenz) Chavez on March 24, 1930 in Seguin, Texas.

Epimenio was born and raised in Seguin, Texas. He worked at HB Zachry Construction and retired after 32 years of service. He was a truly remarkable man; his hands could fix anything that you would hand him no matter how easy or difficult it was. His passion was working on cars as well as supporting his loving wife, Eva in all that she enjoyed doing. Epimenio and his brother built the Palacio Del Rio on the river in San Antonio. He also perfected the concrete formula at Cemix Corporation. Although he is gone physically from our world, we find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his loving wife and that we too will be with them one day.

Epimenio is preceded in death by both of his parents; his loving wife, Eva Luna Chavez; two infant sons; grandson, Dwayne Cook.

He is survived by his children, Teresa Chavez, Ancelmo Chavez, Ester Cook, Epimenio Chavez Jr. and Eva Marie and her husband Frank Sands; grandchildren, Michelle Sorber, Roxanne Sorber, Amanda Chavez, Bianca Chavez, Brian Ancelmo Chavez, Christopher Cook, Epimenio Chavez III, Meghan Woodruff, Laura Quinones and Jade Quinones; great-grandchildren, Elias Moran, Kane Cook, Evelyn Chavez, Melanie Chavez, Miley Rodriguez, Rylie MacNeill, Mason MacNeill, Juliana Quinones, Jayce Doria, Lorenzo Branch, Mateo Cuthbert, and Malik Cuthbert; brother, Domingo Chavez and sister, Pauline Cope as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Chris Cook, Brian Chavez, Kane Cook, Elias Moran, Epimenio Chavez III and Raul Chavez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. all at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
