(Seguin) – Ronald Heinemeyer was honored at Seguin High School’s homecoming football game last Friday for serving as the public address announcer at Matador Stadium for 33 years.

Heinemeyer spent his entire career with Seguin ISD, including a stint as Seguin High School principal.

He handed public address duties at the first home game in the new Matador Stadium before stepping down earlier this season.

Seguin head football coach and athletic director Travis Bush presented Heinemeyer with a plaque between the first and second quarters of the Matador’s 68-7 win over San Antonio-McCollum on Friday.

Heinemeyer received a standing ovation from the Matador fans in attendance.
