(Seguin) — The Seguin ISD is welcoming its newest campus principal. The Seguin ISD Board of Trustees recently welcomed Aaron Hannah as the new school principal for Jefferson Avenue Elementary. Hannah replaces former Principal Merry White who retired at the end of the school year.
Announcing his selection was Cindy Moreno, Seguin ISD deputy chief of staff and human resources. Moreno says Hannah brings years of education experience to Seguin.
“He’s a 2008 University of North Texas graduate with a master’s in educational administration. Mr. Hannah has over 10 years of experience in special education with his most recent position as a principal in Jacksboro, Texas. Hannah’s previous superintendent stated that Aaron has done an exceptional job in encouraging the teaching staff to stretch beyond their comfort zones. Classrooms were regularly transformed into uniquely themed learning environments that are both exciting and academically challenging for students,” said Moreno.
Hannah, who was on hand for the naming of his position, says he is honored for the opportunity and looks forward to serving local families.
“I just want to really just instill that I am truly excited and honored to be the principal at Jefferson Elementary and I really just look forward to meet with the staff and getting some of the positive things that they’ve got going — continuing those things and really instill that my vision for that campus is to be a safe campus. It’s going to be a campus where we are going to have engaging activities and learning is certainly going to be fun, so I look forward to it,” said Hannah.
Hannah’s appointment was approved during Tuesday’s meeting of the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees.
