(Marion) — It’s cleanup time for residents in the city of Marion. The city is giving residents in Marion the chance to spruce up their homes with this weekend’s Clean Up effort. To participate, Marion residents must provide a utility bill along with a valid driver’s license or ID card that matches the utility’s bill address.
Materials to be accepted include shrubs, tree branches, vines, bbq grills, carpeting, fencing, furniture, mattresses, box springs, toilets, water heaters and other appliances. All refrigerators, freezers and or a/c window units must have no refrigerant and must be tagged by a certified technician.
Materials not accepted include construction/ demolition debris, hazardous materials such as paints and household cleaners, tires, car batteries, large pieces of metal, televisions, computers, medical waste and dead animals. All items can be dropped off at the Marion City Park located off of Klein St. on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
