(Seguin) – Texas Lutheran Team Grade Point Average Awards for 2019-20 go to the TLU Baseball and TLU Women’s Volleyball teams.
After a review by the TLU Office of the Registrar, Baseball and Women’s Volleyball were declared this year’s GPA award winners after calculating the teams’ grades over two semesters – the spring semester of 2019 and the fall semester of 2019.
Baseball, led by Head Coach Greg Burnett, won the award for a second consecutive year.
Women’s Volleyball, led by Head Coach Phyllis Fowler, took home the honor for the second time in three years.
Baseball posted a combined team GPA of 3.19 over the two semesters.
Women’s Volleyball collected a combined team GPA of 3.346.
Men’s Golf was the male Team GPA runner-up with a 3.146. Women’s Golf was the female Team GPA runner-up with a 3.303.
The TLU Male and Female Team GPA Awards are presented annually. The awards usually are presented at the annual TLU Athletics Awards Program.
The 2019-20 TLU Athletics Awards Program was postponed until Aug. 1, the day of TLU’s spring graduation ceremony. The awards program is scheduled for 1 p.m. that Saturday in TLU’s Wupperman Little Theatre.
On Aug. 1 at the awards program, TLU Athletics will present Senior Watches to graduating seniors and hand-out major awards to student-athletes.
