Commissioners looking to extend Stay Home Stay Safe order
(Seguin) – Residents are invited to log onto their computers this morning to catch the latest numbers and information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in Guadalupe County.
The Guadalupe County Commissioners Court has scheduled another videoconference meeting in which residents can see and hear from the county leaders themselves.
The videoconference and telephonic meetings were launched several weeks ago to keep the meetings public while also adhering to the governor’s executive order for social distancing.
Commissioners today are expected to again hear from Patrick Pinder, the county’s emergency management coordinator. Pinder will share the latest information on COVID-19.
is responsible for maintaining constant communication with the Texas Department of State Health Services, CDC and all other state and local leaders who have been working together to combat this contagious disease.
The court today is also set to consider and possibly take action on the extension of its Stay Home Stay Safe Order relating to COVID-19. County Judge Kyle Kutscher originally issued the order on April 3. That order was later extended to April 15. Action by the commissioners court today could potentially push that order through April 30.
Other items on today’s agenda includes the recognition and honoring of a pair of efforts within the county.
The first is the recognition of National Telecommunicators Week, April 12-18 and the honoring of 9-1-1 emergency communication professionals at the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office.
The second is the recognition of National Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week, April 12-18 and the honoring of the animal control officers at the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office/Animal Control.
The meeting gets underway today at 10 a.m. in the Guadalupe County Courthouse. The meeting can be viewed live beginning at 10 a.m. on the Guadalupe County website under the tab “agendas.” The website is www.co.guadalupe.tx.us.
