Events, gatherings cancelled or postponed in area
(Seguin) — As health leaders continue to help slow down the spread of COVID-19, many local groups and entities in Seguin and Guadalupe County have done their part to either close, cancel or postpone events that would attract group gatherings.
Here is a list of cancelled or postponed events:
Seguin Elks Lodge has cancelled all of it Bingo sessions.
The Precious Life Services has postponed its Celebration of Life Rally scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at the Seguin Public Library. For more information visit www.preciouslifeservices.org, or call 830-372-5980.
The Knights of Columbus #3412 has cancelled their St. Patrick’s Day bingo which was scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 at the Columbus Hall.
The Guadalupe Republican Women has cancelled its Luncheon scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at the Seguin Silver Center.
The Seguin Outdoor Learning Center has postponed its 12th Annual Cajun Jamboree scheduled for Saturday, March 28. For more information call 830-305-5000.
The Music & Milestones benefiting the League of Women Voters of the Comal Area has been postponed that was scheduled for Saturday, March 21.
The Seguin Public Library will be closed through Sunday, March 22 and will re-open Monday, March 23. Reservations of meeting rooms and study rooms will be cancelled effective immediately. The decision was made to limit mass gatherings out of an abundance of caution to citizens.
The Zonta Club of Seguin has postponed its Chicken Salad Box Lunch Fundraiser scheduled for Thursday, March 26.

The Seguin Hispanic Chamber’s Annual Men and Women’s Power Luncheon scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at the Seguin Coliseum has been postponed with a tentative date of Thursday, April 16.
The Comal Country Music Show scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 has been cancelled.
All trials and court hearings at Seguin Municipal Court. Those have been cancelled through March 31.
Jail visitation at the Guadalupe County Jail has also been suspended until further notice.
The Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce has postponed its annual Hotshot’s Fish Fry Reunion scheduled for Friday, March 20.
The Navarro ISD Facilities Planning Workshop scheduled for Monday, March 16 at 6 p.m. has been canceled. The Navarro ISD Board of Trustees will reschedule the workshop for a later date.
The Navarro Town Hall meeting on the Superintendent scheduled for Thursday, March 19 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. has also been canceled.
The Doug Herrle Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter and Auxiliary Unit 61 in Seguin TX will have limited services starting Tuesday, March 17. All services will be by appointment only. Please call 830-379-3299 to set up an appointment.
Relay For Life of Guadalupe County leaders are asked to postpone all planned events through the remainder of March.
The Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast scheduled for this coming weekend has been postponed.
The Carden International Circus is postponing its March 26 show in Seguin.
The Seguin Public Library will also be closed now up until March 22.
The Seguin Little League has postponed its season until April 6.
The Seguin Youth Soccer Club has also chosen to wait to start its season practice until April 6.
