ARF to host rabies clinic this Saturday at the Max Starcke Park Pavilion

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today

(Seguin) — Seguin’s Animal Rescue Foundation is gearing up to again protect your dogs and cats. ARF volunteers will again be teaming up with local veterinarians this Saturday to administer rabies vaccinations to local animals. The rabies clinic will be held on Saturday at the Max Starcke Park Pavilion.

ARF President Colleen Supulver says the group will operate with the same drive thru process making it easy and convenient for owners in Guadalupe County to get their pets vaccinated.

“This is primarily for people who can not afford veterinary care for their animals. Fortunately, unfortunately, whichever — rabies is the law in the state of Texas. You have to have it. You have to comply. A lot of the dogs that are going into the shelters are being seized from people because they are not in compliance. Our job is to keep them in compliance so they can stay at home with their loving family. So, this is what we provide to the people who can not afford care at a veterinary clinic and if they live within the city limits, Seguin Animal Services will be there selling their registration which is also a law in the city limits,” said Supulver.

The rabies clinic is open to Guadalupe County residents only. Proof of residency will be required. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday or until vaccines run out. Cost is $10 a shot.
