(Seguin) — The Guadalupe County Fair and PRCA Rodeo might have wrapped up but the bragging rights have just gotten started for all of this year’s parade winners.
Dozens of entries braved the colder temperatures on Friday to celebrate the annual tradition in downtown Seguin.
This year’s Grand rize was the Pecan Fest Texas Agriculture Education & Heritage Center, a.k.a. The Big Red Barn.
Other honors include the Seguin High School NJROTC Unit, Best Military; the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse, Best Animal; Guadalupe County Swat Unit, Best Equipment; Guadalupe County Republican Women, Best Festival; the Navarro FFA Chapter, Best Float; the County Line Community Band, Best Out Of Town Float; Sand Hills Volunteer Fire Department, Best Out of Town Heavy Equipment; Seguin High School Matador Theatre, Best Local Entry; Seguin High School Mighty Matador Band and Colorguard, Best Marching Band; Seguin Youth Sports League CPPO Matadors, Judges Award and the the Guadalupe Valley Young Marines for Best Military entry. Approximately 60 floats took part in this year’s festivities.
The parade marked the start of the fair weekend which ran Oct. 11-13.
