(Seguin) — This historic house in downtown Seguin is on its way to finding a new home. The house, built in 1908, was located across the street from the Silver Center on East Court Street. It had not served as a home for some time. Instead, it has been used as a commercial property — housing everything from an insurance office, to a barber shop, to a recording studio.
The house’s new location will allow it to become someone’s home again. The family that purchased the home is moving it to the Kingsbury area, and it’s expected to be completely restored. In preparation for the transport, the house movers removed the roof of the home, cut it in half, and loaded it onto two trailers. Half of the house moved on Wednesday, with the second-half slated to be moved to Kingsbury sometime today.
The downtown property will now be used to create additional parking for a doctor’s office on Court Street.
