Billy Kaupert Jr., age 74 of La Vernia, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2019. A memorial service celebrating Billy’s life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Billy was born August 8, 1945 in San Antonio, Tx to William and Marie Kaupert. Billy is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife Deborah Williams Kaupert; daughter, Melissa Doege; son, William “Bubba” Kaupert III and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Bryan Kaupert, Alena Doege, Matthew Weichold, and Caden Doege; sister, Donna Poppe and husband Jack; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends. For many years, Billy worked as a lineman for City Public Service, was a shop foreman for General Neon Sign Company, and a self-employed contract welder. Billy loved to hunt and fish with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved being on his tractor and bailing hay with his son.
