The circus comes to town

The circus comes to town

(Seguin) — Don’t forget to grab your tickets for a seat under the Big Top. The Shrine Circus has teamed up the Carden International Circus for tonight’s performance at the Seguin Events Complex rodeo arena.

Veronica Prado, a Brazilian aerialist who you will see dancing 30 feet high in the air, says tonight’s circus performance is the real deal. She says in addition to the thrills high up above the trapeze, families will also get to enjoy a full night of animals, jugglers, clowns and a list of other awe-inspiring thrills.

“We have high wire. We have animals. We have lots of fun. We have aerialists. We have show girls, lots of people from different countries so come on out and see how fun it’s going to be,” said Prado.

Prado says what might set the Shrine Circus apart from others is its willingness to always open doors early so that families can get up close and personal with the various animals and circus stars.

“You can come and see real live animals. You can touch them. You can ride them — ponies, camels, elephants. That’s the difference about our show because you can come and ask whatever you want to ask. The animal trainers will answer you and you can come and get your face painting. You can come take pictures of the snakes. So, it’s going to be a lot of fun. We open doors an hour before the show starts,” said Prado.

The circus gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at the rodeo arena. Again, doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $16 for children 12 and under and $18 for adults.

A free children’s pass can be found in today’s edition of the Seguin Daily News. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.shrinecircus.com. The Carden International Circus is working alongside the Shriners for the fundraising effort. Proceeds from the circus go directly to the Alzafar Shriners.
