SAN ANTONIO, Texas — After storming out of the gates 10-5, Seguin (20-24) woke Boerne (30-6) up and endured a 3-1 loss to end their season in the opening round of the UIL State 5A Division 2 Playoffs.

The loss came after Seguin earned a postseason bid for the third straight year.

But trouble executing clean passes and strong receptions put an end to a season with highs and lows for the Lady Matadors.

Still, surviving a 3-9 start against stiff competition and ending up in another playoff bracket showed how resilient this squad with six seniors proved to be.

But after a reshot run to begin the match, the Lady Greyhounds got busy and took control with wide leads in every one of their set wins.

Only time Seguin won came in set two after rallying from an 8-4 hole and facing set point for Boerne 25-24 before scoring three straight. Senior Britlyn Walls serving and second touch kill ended the set two win for Seguin to even the match as Walls ran into her Head Coach Ashley Farris’s arms.

A fitting moment for the senior on her final night as a Lady Matador volleyball player.

Along with Walls, five other seniors end their careers with two district titles and three playoff berths.

Tip of the cap to Elli Anderson, Britlyn Walls, Kiersten Walls, Bella Homan, Rebeka Wilke, and Danica Rushlow for their contributions to bringing Seguin volleyball back to contention the past few years.

Your contributions and legacy will forever be associated with winning and standing tall like true Matadors.

DEVINE, Texas — Marion volleyball (22-20) won their bi-district battle against Carrizo Springs (20-12) 3–1 to advance to Area.

Marion lost set one 25-18 before taking set two (25-16), set three (25-21), and set four (27-25).

Marion will face Ingram Moore, district 25’s undefeated champs, next week on either November 2nd or 3rd.

BEEVILLE, Texas— Navarro volleyball (25-12) swept Rockport-Fulton (23-13) for their third straight win the bi-district round.

The Lady Panthers won by scores of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-22.

Next up, district 31’s runners-up from Corpus Christi Tuloso-Midway next week on November 2nd.
