2026 Buck Fever now underway

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today

2026 Buck Fever now underway

(Seguin) — The annual two day Buck Fever event returns tonight to the Seguin Coliseum.

For years, Wednesday evening has operated as Kids Night with free admission for those 18 and under.

Buck Fever Board President Rodney Bargfrede says today’s events includes a scavenger hunt with prizes, a children’s raffle, a petting zoo, archery and pellet-gun shoots. The event also includes exhibitors,  vendors and food trucks.

A special presentation featuring Wild Things Zoofari and its animal program is also set for today at 7 p.m.

Bargfrede says Buck Fever which began 41 years ago raises money to support Guadalupe County youth through scholarships and other programs.

Fundraising activities this year, again, include a 30-gun raffle and a bucket-drop drawing featuring several prizes assembled by the organization’s raffle committee.

Thursday will feature the announcement of the horns contest winners, along with drawings for the guns and bucket-drop prizes. The organization will also hold its pick of the litter drawing for members.

The final horns will be accepted today from 7 to 11 a.m.

The contest includes 14 categories for antlers from deer harvested during the 2025-26 season.

Bargfrede encourages longtime residents and newcomers to stop by. He says the event is designed to bring the community together and all while helping local youth.

“Just everybody come out and visit all the new people that have come into Guadalupe County,” said Bargfrede. “Come see what we’re all about and I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself when you get there.”

Gates open both nights at 5:30 p.m.

Admission for adults is $10. Again, today is free for kids. Admission on Thursday is $5 for students. Children six and under are free.

The Seguin Coliseum is located at 950 S. Austin St.
