(Seguin) — Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers is still encouraging the community to grab tickets for its annual Pecan & Vine Soirée.
The fourth annual event is scheduled for this Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Seguin Elks Lodge. The evening will feature wine tastings, cigars, dinner by Burnt Bean Co., and several fundraising opportunities.
Tim Kolbe, vice president of Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers, says the fundraiser plays an important role in supporting the organization’s operations and its efforts to help law enforcement solve crimes.
“Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers is a 501c3 organization. We are a charitable (organization). We are regulated by the state of Texas, and we have several different accounts, but the most important account is the reward account. And obviously, Crime Stoppers is a valuable part of the community in that we accept anonymous tips on criminal activity to assist law enforcement in the solution of crime,” said Kolbe.
Kolbe says annual operating expenses typically range from $25,000 to $30,000, depending on training and community outreach needs.
The evening will begin with opening remarks from local law enforcement officials, followed by a barbecue dinner from Burnt Bean Co.
He says guests will also have opportunities to enjoy tastings from participating vendors, including Rebecca Creek -A Texas Distillery and Windmill Farm Winery, along with cigars provided through Big Chief Cigar Company.
“We have a great time. And then afterward, there’ll be some firearms for raffle. We have a silent auction. We’ll have some other raffle type items,” said Kolbe.
Kolbe says the organization is in the final stages of preparing for the event but may still have a few individual seats available.
Tickets are $100 per person, while tables of eight are available for $800.
Community members can find ticket information on the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers Facebook page.
