Residents encouraged to come out, learn more

(Seguin) — Tonight is the night when Seguin residents can hear what’s happening in the community — and what’s ahead.

The City of Seguin today will host its 2026 State of the City from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seguin Coliseum.

City Public Information Officer Jennifer Sourdellia said last week that dozens and dozens of people had already registered for the event and was encouraging even more residents to sign up ahead of today’s event.

“We’ve already got 250 people registered on our online registration form, so I’m super-duper excited about that. And yeah, we’re just getting ready to uh see everyone out there,” said Sourdellia.

The free event will feature Seguin Mayor Donna Dodgen and City Manager Steve Parker. Both will provide updates on Seguin’s current state and discuss topics including community growth, infrastructure, retail and economic development, future projects and city priorities.

City departments will also be able to answer questions and provide information about municipal programs and services.

Sourdellia says residents will also have an opportunity to meet the city council members representing their respective districts.

In the meantime, the city is asking residents to register online in advance if possible, to help officials plan for the event. Everyone who registers online will also be entered into a prize drawing. Participants, however, must be present to win.

The State of the City is free and open to all Seguin residents.
