(Seguin) – The Guadalupe County Major Thoroughfare Plan will be nearing the finish line today. A public hearing and potential vote on the county’s draft plan will be held during today’s meeting of the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court.
According to the county, the plan is intended to provide the county with a long-term template for planning future transportation needs while also helping officials make short-term decisions regarding roadway funding and the preservation of developing transportation corridors.
County officials say the Major Thoroughfare Plan has been under discussion since 2023. During that time, several public meetings have been held to gather input from residents.
As part of this plan, draft maps showing colorized routes identified as potential thoroughfares have also been available for public review on the Guadalupe County website.
County officials say the proposed routes are intended to help the county plan as the area continues to grow and transportation needs change.
Following the public hearing, Commissioners Court is scheduled to consider an agenda item regarding adoption of the Major Thoroughfare Plan.
Residents can review the draft plan and maps through the Guadalupe County website at GuadalupeTX.gov.
The Commissioners Court meeting will be held at 10 a.m. in the Guadalupe County Courthouse.
