(San Marcos) — Officials are confirming that human remains recently found near Luling have been identified as a missing Texas State University student.
Jason Landry disappeared in December 2020 while driving home to Missouri City from San Marcos.
His crashed car was found abandoned on Salt Flat Road, not far from where his remains were ultimately discovered.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the identification on Wednesday.
Paxton said DNA testing had confirmed that the remains were those of the missing 21-year-old.
