Election Day arrives in Guadalupe County; polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

(Seguin) — The day has finally arrived. After weeks of campaigning, early voting and discussions about the issues, Guadalupe County voters will have their final opportunity Tuesday to make their voices heard in the Nov. 3 General Election.

Polls will be open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters in Guadalupe County are able to cast their ballots at any of the county’s 38 voting locations.

That’s because Guadalupe County uses a countywide vote center system.

That means voters no matter where they live can vote at any polling location open in Guadalupe County.

Voters are encouraged to review the Election Day polling locations before heading out. A complete list of the 38 voting centers can be found at SeguinToday.com. or on the Guadalupe County Elections website.

In Seguin City Council District 5, voters will choose between Chris Alvies and Forrest Fletcher.

Seguin ISD voters will decide on Proposition A, a Voter-Approval Tax Ratification Election (VATRE). According to district officials, if approved, the proposal would provide additional maintenance and operations funding for the district to help recruit and retain qualified staff, support campus safety and security, and maintain student programs and general operations.

In the Navarro ISD, voters will select four at-large school board trustees from a field of five candidates. They include Jared Gallini, Noah Webster,

Kristen Green, Hillarie Forister and incumbent Dan Reinhard.

The Guadalupe Appraisal District Board of Directors Place 2 race will also feature Peggy Jonnell Herman and Charles O. Kelm.

At the state level, voters in Texas House District 44 will decide between Republican incumbent Alan Schoolcraft and Democratic challenger Eric Norman.

Guadalupe County voters will also have a say in the newly redrawn 35th Congressional District race between Republican Carlos De La Cruz and Democrat Johnny Garcia, along with statewide races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and U.S. Senate. Voters are reminded that not every contest will appear on every voter’s ballot. Those contests will be determined by where they live.

KWED Radio will have live election coverage throughout the evening. Results can be heard on AM 1580 KWED or online at SeguinToday.com

Election coverage is sponsored by Joe Cool’s AC & Heating.
