Consuelo “Connie” Haines, age 84 of Seguin, went to be with the Lord, on October 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born in Westbrook, Texas, on October 6, 1942, to Juanita (Gonzales), and Alcario Garcia.
Wherever Connie went, she carried the good news of the Lord with her, sharing it with strangers, friends, neighbors, and her own family. Her love for the Lord was abundantly evident, flowing from her onto all those blessed enough to know her. She was a light in this world, and her faith was a beautiful reflection of His love. She was truly beautiful, but as Proverbs 31:30 reminds us, beauty is fleeting, while a woman who fears the Lord is worthy of praise. We find comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in the presence of our Almighty, loving Father.
Connie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold D. Haines, her grandsons, Paul Anthony Santos, and Craig Allen Melton, her parents, and her siblings, Eva Dawson, Steven Garcia, and Daniel Garcia.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Riojas Avila and husband Rudy; granddaughters, Neomi De La Garza and husband Edward, Jr., and Natalie Bloch and fiancé Christian Avalos; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Saviah, Kashton, and Kace De La Garza, Elijah Bloch Avalos, and Silas Melton; siblings, Adam Garcia, Hope Rodriguez, Sylvia Garcia, Corina Dawson, David Garcia and wife Diane, and George Garcia; step-children, Aubrey Haines and wife Donna, Mark Haines and wife Brenda, Linda McCall and husband Marvin, and Nancy Frase and husband Steve; numerous other loving family members and many friends.
Memorial visitation will begin on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by memorial service at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Jim Taylor officiating.
Private interment will be held at a later date in San Geronimo Cemetery.
