Rotary Club to host Halloween fundraiser this Thursday
(Seguin) — The Rotary Club of Seguin is giving residents a new reason to get together for some pre-Halloween fun.
Rock the Fright will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Seguin Schoolyard.
Julie Leos, a member of the Seguin Rotary Club, says the first-ever fundraiser will feature live music, a costume contest, food, desserts and raffles.
“We still have a few tickets available. We’ll be selling them at the door or we can get folks tickets too, if they want to get them ahead of time. So, there’s still plenty of space for anybody who wants to show up. If we run out of VIP tickets, the Schoolyard is open to everybody. So, if you still want to come hear the music, you definitely could do that,” said Leos.
VIP tickets are $50. A reserved VIP table for six is also available for $500. VIP guests will have reserved seating for the concert and access to catering by Davila’s Food Group and ice cream from The Tiny Truck Social Club.
The evening also will include a corn hole tournament. The tournament begins at 5:30 p.m. The cost for a two-person team is $150. Team registration includes two VIP tickets to the event.
Leos says of course, the main event will be to rock the night with live band Mischief Soul.
“The band that’s playing is called Mischief Soul. And Mischief Soul features one of our Rotary Club member Brad Webb, Lt. General Brad Webb, who’s in our Rotary Club. And I guess after being in the military for so long, he really took a different approach to retirement. And so now he plays the guitar in Mischief Soul. And so, they are really excited to join us in Seguin. And they generally probably play heavier music or might not be music that people normally would listen to, but because they know that it is going to bring a lot of folks out from the community, they’re working on some really fun covers for us to jam out to on Thursday night. So, we’re excited to be out there,” said Leos.
Leos says the fundraiser will support local efforts, including scholarships for students pursuing college or trade school and grants for community organizations.
Tickets and corn hole team registration are available online at seguinrotary.org/page/fundraiser. VIP tickets and tables also may be purchased through the event’s online ticket links. Those links are available on the group’s Facebook page.
The event, however, is open to all ages and the community.
