(Seguin) — Nearly 15,000 Guadalupe County voters have already cast ballots during the first three days of early voting. Daily — that’s just under 5,000 as voters head to the polls ahead of the Nov. 3 General Election.
According to the county’s early voting numbers (not to include Thursday, Oct. 22), 4,875 ballots were cast Monday, Oct. 19, the first day of early voting. Another 4,847 ballots were recorded Tuesday, followed by 4,686 on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Election officials say that brings the three-day total to 14,408 ballots.
With early voting continuing through next week, Carmen Davila, the public information officer for Guadalupe County, is reminding voters to check the hours before heading out to the polls this weekend, especially since the schedule will change next week to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“We are reminding people that early voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. People always get confused (during the first week) that it runs until 7 p.m. But on Saturday (Oct. 24), it’s going to run 7 a.m to 7 p.m. And then on Sunday, (Oct.25), it runs 12 to 6 p.m. We really want them to be informed of the locations and the hours. We’re encouraging everybody to get out and vote early. So just making sure that they know their hours or locations is important,” said Davila.
Again, the weekday schedule will change next week. From Monday, Oct. 26, through Friday, Oct. 30, early voting locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Guadalupe County has six early voting locations. Those locations include the county Elections Office at 3251 N. State Highway 123 in Seguin, the Elections Office Annex on Elbel Road in Schertz; Seguin ISD Administration Building at 1221 E. Kingsbury St.; Cibolo Fire Station #2 at 3864 Cibolo Valley Rd; Redemptive Grace Ministries at 2240 FM 725 and the New Berlin Community Center at 8815 FM 775.
Voters will need to bring an ID. Sample ballots are available through the Guadalupe County website at guadalupetx.gov.
