Amanda Miller was born May 20, 1951, to Ruth Ella and James Miller in Seguin, Texas. Amanda grew up in Kingsbury, TX, and passed away on September 6, 2026.
Amanda was preceded in death by her parents Ruth Ella and James Miller and her siblings, John Miller and Thelma Mae Clark, niece Erica Franklin, nephews LaRue Miller and Gregory Martin.
She leaves to cherish her memories; siblings, Lillie Ruth Martin, Urlet Miller (Tracy), Roy Miler (Maria), Lizzie Ola Pezoli, and Lillie Mae Miller-Walker (Ralph).
She graduated from Gonzales High. She attended Saint Phillips and then transferred to Houston Tillotson University graduated in 1974 with a degree in sociology. Amanda worked for Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for over 30 years until retirement. For many years she sold Avon products throughout the south Texas area. Even after retiring she worked with the election; reminding her loved ones to go vote.
Amanda was never married. She took her duty as an aunt very seriously by helping with raising her nieces and nephews.
Her hobbies were traveling, socializing, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed sending greeting cards to each and everyone. Amanda took pictures everywhere she went. She was good at cooking corn bread dressing and preparing potatoes salad.
Her laughter was infectious and her smile warmed your heart. Amanda’s legacy of love, laughter and strength will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Amanda received Christ at an early age. She enjoyed attending church. Amanda was a member of McKinley Height under the leadership of Reverend Grant for many years. She attended Faith Catherall COGIC until her health started failing her under Supt. Dennis Watson.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:30 am. with the Reverend Robert Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the James Miller Cemetery. A reception will follow interment at the Garcia Camp.
