SEGUIN, Texas — Senior defensive back Troy Tomaselli (San Antonio/Cornerstone Christian) of the Texas Lutheran football team was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Tomaselli led the the Bulldogs defense with eight tackles, including a tackle for loss and half a sack in the losing effort.
The SCAC Defensive Player of th Week honor is the third of his career and his first honor since 2024. It is the sixth SCAC Defensive Player of the Week honor since SCAC restored football in 2024.
The Bulldogs (0-1) return to action when they host Southwestern at Bulldog Stadium on Saturday, September 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 PM with “Gold Rush” set for the theme at Bulldog Stadium.
