BELTON, Texas — Texas Lutheran Volleyball swept Carroll University, 25-19, 25-19, 25-23, in their second match of the day on Friday at Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 on the season with their second straight sweep. The Bulldogs 3-0 start is their first 3-0 start since 2022.
Nadia Dunn (Houston/Pearland) led Texas Lutheran with 12 kills, while hitting .346 in the match. She also added two digs. Andie Lozano-Lomeli (Brownsville/Pace) finished with ten kills and thee blocks.
Ava Search (Richmond/Needville) had a great match, making an impact in several aspects. She finished with 11 kills, two aces, a team-high 16 digs, and a block for her second double-double in her first three collegiate matches. Briana Salvatierra-Moore (San Antonio/Antonian College Prep) added six kills, three blocks, two digs, and an ace, while Zaria Solis (Burnet/Burnet) and Moriah Williams (San Antonio/Roosevelt) each finished with three kills, three digs, and two blocks.
Addison Gallegos (Floresville/Jourdanton) dished out 21 assists and finished with ten digs for her second double-double of the season. Aleena Zuniga (McAllen/Sharyland Pioneer) tallied 15 assists and eight digs.
Ava Search and Nadia Dunn led the Bulldogs to first set win combining for 11 kills as a back-and-forth opening set went the Bulldogs way, 25-19. With the set tied 12-all, the Bulldogs closed on a 13-7 run to take the set.
The second set saw six more ties before the Bulldogs pulled ahead with a 14-8 closing run. Lozano-Lomeli led the Bulldogs with four kills and two blocks in the set.
The Bulldogs were down 5-0 early in the third set and rallied late to overcome a 17-13 deficit to complete the sweep. Salvatierra-Moore served as the closer for the Bulldogs with five kills and a block in the final set.
