Time to catch you up on the action from Goldie Harris Gym for Seguin and Marion during day one of the Matador Classic.
(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors kicked off their tournament with three wins in a row over Stevens (2-0), Southside (2-0), and Marion (2-1).
The wins came in Seguin’s first home matches of the season to boost their record to 6-9. The three-game win streak is the longest of the season for the Lady Mats.
Seguin will continue their pool play tomorrow in Goldie Harris Gym.
(Seguin) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs went 2-1 during their first day of the Matador Classic.
Marion started off with a 2-0 sweep of Stevens by identical 25-19 set scores.
Next, Marion defeated Southside’s Cardinals. After winning set one 25-16, Marion rallied from down 19-11 to win the match in set two, 26-24.
In their final battle against Seguin, Marion won set two 25-19 but dropped sets one and three 25-10.
Marion has won four of their last six matches and sits with an 11-9 record.
Marion will be back in action from Seguin’s Goldie Harris Gym tomorrow after finishing day one second in their pool.
